What is a Virtual Runathon?
A Virtual Runathon from Virtuathon® is a 5K or 10K challenge that can be completed at your own pace, individually or with friends, anywhere you like – at home, in the gym or your local park or footpath – you choose the location. It is perfect for beginners as you also receive comprehensive training, delivered daily courtesy of the Get Event Fit® app, to help guide, educate, motivate and inspire you throughout your training journey.

Registration is easy. Choose to either fundraise a minimum sponsorship for one of our partner charities and receive FREE entry or pay the entry fee yourself.
How much is the entry admin fee?
The Beginners Virtual Runathon normally costs £29.97. However, use the 10% discount code BVR10 and it's only £26.97 – less than 50p per day for comprehensive beginners training delivered daily for up to 8 weeks and a Virtuathon® finishers medal – incredible value!

Can I register for FREE?
Yes. Choose to fundraise a minimum sponsorship for one of our partner charities and you'll receive entry to the Beginners Virtual Runathon for FREE.
Fundraising for your chosen charity is a great way to help you stay focussed and provides an additional purpose to your challenge, but it is entirely optional (unless you've chosen to fundraise a minimum sponsorship from one of our partners charities for FREE entry). Once you've registered, choose a good cause and setup your JustGiving fundraising page. We'll also provide you with lot's of fundraising advice, hints and tips along the way.
Do I have to fundraise?
No. Fundraising is entirely at your discretion.
CAN I DONATE DIRECTLY TO A PARTICIPATING CHARITY?

We will guide, inspire, educate and regularly motivate you to become fitter, healthier and fully prepared for your Beginners Virtual Runathon challenge. Your Runathon training programme is delivered daily so it's always relevant and you stay motivated as you travel along your training journey – accessed at your convenience through the Get Event Fit training app on Apple, Android and Online.
Is GET EVENT FIT® training included?
Yes. Comprehensive event training from Get Event Fit is included for to all Virtual Runathon participants.
why is get event fit training better than a training PLAN?
Experts agree that successful event preparation must involve more than simply improving running fitness — effective, injury free preparation requires strength and conditioning of the whole body with active recovery strategies, correct nutrition and a positive mindset – especially for beginners.
However, a downloadable PDF training guide simply outlines a week-by-week running fitness schedule. It’s very difficult for a PDF to educate, inspire and regularly motivate everyday throughout your training journey and the more pages a PDF contains, the more overwhelming it becomes and the less likely it is to be read.

Where can I complete my challenge?
Complete your challenge at your own pace, individually or as a team, anywhere you like – at home, in the gym or your local park or footpath – you choose the location.
Do I have to run on a certain day or time?
Virtual Runathon challenges take place over a specific weekend so that we can provide you with the correct training and motivation throughout your training journey. However, you can complete your Virtual Runathon at any time throughout the specific weekend.
Do I have to run or can I walk?
Complete your Virtual Runathon at your own pace – walk, jog or run, it's entirely up to you.
You've trained hard, smashed your Virtual Runathon, maybe even raised vital funds for your chosen charity and received your Virtuathon finishers medal for all your hard work.
When will i receive my finishers medal?
Usually within 14 days after the Virtual Runathon, but often sooner.
